PWD and Older Persons Council leaders in Amuria Assume Offices
People with disability and older person’s Council leaders have assumed offices after they were sworn in. The leaders assumed office after taking oath that was presided over by the Deputy Chief Administrative officer Amuria Mr Paul Wamono at the health boardroom.
Mr Alfred Okiria Aloka is the incoming chairperson older person’s council. He takes over from Max Eonya. Okiria is being deputized by Mr Ali Alias. Other members of the older person’s council include; John Bosco Mooka secretary general, John Eridu Okiring secretary for publicity and Elizabethe Anyait the secretary Finance.
Meanwhile, Members of the People with disability council were also sworn in.
Ebwonu Alex was sworn in as the chairperson people with disability council.
He takes over from Feddy Oba. Ebwonu will be deputized by Charles Opus. Other members in the persons with disability council include; Jeremiah Ecuku Secretary, David Eceru Secretary for publicity and Ilukor Stella Secretary for publicity.
After being sworn in Alfred Aloka Okiria says his first task is to establish the number of older persons in Amuria so that my council can adequately plan , oversee and lobby for them. "There are about 650 older persons in every sub county in Amuria, its not a conclusive figure , our council will strive to find out the exact number of older persons". Okiria said.
